Midlife can feel like a season of questions you never saw coming.
Who am I now?
What’s next for me?
Why does my body, and my mind, feel like it’s been hijacked?
If you’ve been wondering these same things, you’re not alone. In fact, that’s exactly why I created my Virtual Midlife Women’s Process Group for California residents, a safe space for women navigating the messy, beautiful in-between of perimenopause, shifting roles, and rediscovering who they are.
Recently, I sat down with my fellow therapist, Kara Cruz, LMFT, to talk about the group, the journey many women face in midlife, and why real support matters. In this conversation we dive into perimenopause — its emotional, mental, and physical effects — and how midlife can bring a wave of confusion: changing roles, shifting identity, and deep inner questions most of us don’t talk about.
In the video, Kara and I break down what led me to build this group, and why I believe a small, tight-knit circle of women offering truth, compassion, and connection can be a lifeline during this often-overlooked season.
Midlife doesn’t always come with a manual. Hormones change, priorities shift. Kids grow up, parents age. Careers evolve, sometimes stall. Emotions surge. And amid all this — many women feel alone with questions like: Who am I now? What do I really want?
I saw this firsthand in my work as a therapist, and even more personally, when I went through my own midlife recalibration. I realized just how little support is offered for women navigating these transitions — especially support that allows real, messy honesty, vulnerability, and connection.
So I created this group for women in their mid-30s to mid-50s in California. It’s not about having all the answers. It’s about being seen, heard, and understood.
Here’s how the group works:
During our time together we’ll explore: rediscovering identity beyond roles, navigating perimenopause and its challenges, redefining relationships and boundaries, balancing work, children, parents and self-care, and preparing for what’s next.
This is a space where you can show up as you are: unfiltered, real, and accepted.
You don’t have to be “broken” to join, you just need to know: you deserve a space where you don’t have to pretend.
This group isn’t just about venting. It’s about transformation, reclaiming yourself, and building community. When women gather to share stories, fears, hopes — something shifts. You begin to feel grounded, less alone, more seen.
Many women walk away with:
This is the kind of support that doesn’t just help you survive midlife, it helps you start thriving.
If this resonates and you want more guidance as you move through midlife, you can explore my other blogs — Feeling Lost in Your 40s and How to Find Yourself in Midlife. Both articles dive deeper into the emotional and identity shifts so many women experience and offer supportive next steps toward feeling more grounded and understood.
If you’re ready to see if this group fits, great. Step one is simple:
Because each group stays small (6–8 women), this screening step ensures we create a safe, meaningful space for everyone.
